"Fantastic, clever, relevant to real life, WOW!"
St Monica's Primary School, Wodonga, VIC

("Take Off" was originally called "Buzz Off")

Once Upon a Stage

This show continues to be a favourite in primary schools. Popular children’s books are presented in visual mode on stage highlighting the synergies of theatre, literature and the curriculum.

Teachers are sent a Teachers’ Kit listing the books presented on stage with related activities, giving the class the opportunity to be prepared before seeing the production, encouraging discussion before and after the performance.

Students are enthralled as they see their favourite characters come to life from the page to the stage giving them an alternative way to enjoy literature and inspire and ignite imagination.

Books chosen from popular authors for 2008 as follows:

A Proper Little Lady - By Nette Hilton and Cathy Wilcox,
Amy and Louis - by Libby Gleeson and Freya Blackwood
John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat - by Jenny Wagner
Old Tom – Man of Mystery - by Leigh Hobbs
Princess Smartypants - By Babette Cole
Quincy and Oscar - by Kerry Millard
There’s a Sea in my Bedroom - by Margaret Wild
Willy the Wizard - by Anthony Browne

“It was a powerful, convincing and
engaging way of presenting a story. The students were captivated”
Dickens House, Cranbrook Junior School NSW

("Once Upon a Stage" was originally called "Page to Stage")
